South Korea delayed reforesting after the deforestation in the Korean War, and it relies for timber on foreign countries such as North America. As a result apartment houses have become a major type of residence.
Since the IT industry has increased the standard of living, high income groups tend to build timbered houses in the suburb of Seoul as a health-oriented trend.
The purpose of this project is to research the possibility that Japanese timbered architectural technology can be introduced to South Korea which has a culture of apartment houses. In addition, how to create the demand of timbered architecture in South Korea.
