Asia and Womenfs Labor: A Consideration on Sustainable Development and a Gender Equal Community

This study mainly aims at analyzing cross-border movement in the labor force, which keeps changing amid the development of new international division of labor, from the viewpoint of gAsia and women,h thereby clarifying challenges in sustainable development and a gender-equal community through theoretical and empirical approaches. In particular, it will focus on Asian women who find work and live permanently in Nagoya and surrounding areas, and their families. Inter-disciplinary analyses will be conducted in terms of gindividualsh and gcommunities,h pertaining to economic factors for movement in the labor force, family strategies for movement, cultural conflicts, challenges in local communities and education, and so on. Through such analyses this study seeks to consider a future gender-equal society, in multilateral perspectives.
